The village
Weobley (pronounced 'Webbly') is one of best preserved Tudor villages in the country. Its fine timber-framed houses built at the foot of an ancient castle make it perhaps the most remarkable of the north Herefordshire ‘black and white’ villages. Most of the timber framed houses were built around 1500 and the view of Broad Street from the 'Goldilocks' bedroom is like looking onto the set of Godric's Hollow. There is a self-guided heritage trail and detective trail for children with which to explore the extraordinarily rich village history. Or, if you have younger children, there's a well equipped playground and BMX track a few hundred yards from the house.
In 2017 the BBC's the One Show chose Weobley as one of the most attractive villages in the country and in 2015 the Daily Mail included Weobley in the top 20 most idyllic villages you MUST visit.
The Throne is at the heart of this thriving traditional village, within a few minutes walk of an excellent local butcher, a greengrocers/delicatessen, a well-stocked village shop selling local ice-cream and dairy products, a pottery, 2 pubs and 2 restaurants – a well known French one, Jules, and excellent Indian curry house in addition to the dining area in the Salutation pub. Meat can be ordered in advance from the butcher (tel. 01544 318205) and delicious artisan bread can be reserved from the Green Bean (tel. 01544 318865). The Green Bean Cafe next door serves wonderful coffee, lunch and home made cakes.
The beautiful rural setting is a key part of Weobley's attractiveness. There are circular walks in three directions from the house through fields, woods, apple orchards, hills and the castle grounds. The Ley, a stunning eight-gabled Elizabethan manor house on the outskirts of the village, is a highlight of a long and a short circular walk option. It's also popular with cyclists. There's an easy 9 mile cycle ride and harder 15 mile ride round the idyllic black and white villages downloadable here.

Herefordshire Raceway, (tel: 01544 318334) a 600m outdoor track in lovely countryside, and the perfect place to experience go-karting, whether as a fun outing, a launch pad to greater things or the thrill of a lifetime.
Herefordshire Golf Club (tel: 01432 83021), the hidden gem of golf in the Midlands. The Club provides good changing accommodation and an excellent Clubhouse in which to wine and dine. Visitors are welcome. It also does popular Sunday lunches. Follow Hereford Rd left out of the village.
