Pubs and places to eat
Herefordshire is a good location for country pubs with good food. The following list includes our recommendations based on our own experience. We would recommend booking in advance.
On the door step:
In Weobley, there are three good options as well as the Green Bean cafe for lunch:
Jules, a well established, French bistro-style restaurant, good menu, generous portions and tasty food (also does takeaways).
Lal Bagh, an excellent Indian curry house (also does takeaways).
The Salutation Inn, very nice menu and great food and service. A roaring fire in winter.
Further afield:
The Cider Barn at Dunkerton's Cider Mill - excellent locally sourced food to which people come from far afield, and it's only a short drive from Weobley.
The Stagg Inn, Titley - award-winning gastro pub, delicious menu and good wine list. Can be combined with a walk.
The Bell at Tillington - great pub food and play equipment for children, on the way to Hereford.
The Oak, Wigmore does excellent food in a beautifully restored coaching inn and can be combined with a walk round the stunningly romantic Wigmore castle ruins (English Heritage) towards Ludlow.
Near Hay on Wye, the Rhydspence is an old pub and restaurant in a fantastic half timbered building with friendly staff and nice food.
